The 2024-25 SEC basketball regular season wrapped up on Saturday, and while the Kentucky Wildcats closed things out with a win over Missouri, the Auburn Tigers stole the spotlight by securing the regular season championship. This marks Auburn’s fifth regular-season SEC title and their third in the past eight years, solidifying their growing reputation as a powerhouse in the conference.
Since the SEC’s formation in 1933, 14 different teams have claimed at least one regular-season championship. Of the 16 teams currently in the conference, 12 have reached the top at least once. The two newest members—Oklahoma and Texas—haven’t had a shot yet, as this was their first season in the league.
