Tennessee Volunteers fans have a new reason to celebrate as football royalty continues to run through the bloodline. Marshall Manning, the nephew of Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning, has officially committed to the University of Tennessee as a preferred walk-on.
The 18-year-old quarterback from Isidore Newman School in New Orleans – the same high school where both Peyton and Eli Manning played – made the announcement in a heartfelt social media post Sunday night, saying: “Tennessee has always felt like home. I’m honored to wear the same colors my uncle did and continue the family legacy.”
The Manning Legacy Continues
Marshall, the son of Cooper Manning and cousin to rising Texas star Arch Manning, has been under the recruiting radar due to limited varsity exposure, but he’s impressed in off-season camps and has been praised for his football IQ, leadership, and poise in the pocket.
Vols Head Coach Josh Heupel expressed excitement over the news: “Marshall is a great young man with a tremendous understanding of the game. While he’s coming in as a walk-on, we believe he has the work ethic and tools to make a real impact in our quarterback room.”

Peyton Manning, who famously led the Vols to a national championship contention in the late ‘90s and remains an iconic figure in Knoxville, shared his support in a statement:
