LeBron James Has Never Had a Bench Like This, And It Shows…

James has never had binch players and scores like he has now. If LeBron this team he would won 6 titles by now. Just my opinion.

For years, LeBron James has carried teams on his back, often without a strong supporting cast. But this season, something feels different. The depth of this Lakers squad is unlike anything he’s ever had before, and the results are starting to show.

Think about it: throughout his career, LeBron has had to play superhero basketball just to keep his teams competitive. Even during his championship runs, the benches were never elite. The Miami Heat’s “Big Three” era relied heavily on LeBron, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh, but the depth wasn’t game-changing. In Cleveland, he had Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, but outside of them, it was a rotating cast of role players who often crumbled under pressure. The Lakers’ 2020 championship team had solid pieces, but even then, the depth wasn’t as stacked as it is now.

Fast forward to today, and LeBron is playing with arguably the best bench and overall supporting cast of his career. Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura, Jarred Vanderbilt, and a rejuvenated Anthony Davis give the Lakers a level of balance they haven’t had in years. They can score without LeBron on the floor—something that was rarely the case in the past.

Now, let’s take this a step further. If LeBron had this level of depth throughout his career, how many titles would he have? Six? Maybe more? The argument isn’t far-fetched. Michael Jordan had Hall of Fame teammates and a system that maximized his strengths. Steph Curry has always had deep, well-built rosters. LeBron, on the other hand, has had to do more with less for most of his career.

This Lakers team may not be perfect, but it’s proof of what could have been. If LeBron had this level of bench production earlier in his career, the GOAT conversation might look very different right now.

Just my opinion, but it’s hard to argue against.
